Tokboard alternative: where to see top TikTok songs now that Tokboard is offline

Tokboard, the free “Top TikTok Songs This Week” chart, last refreshed its data on May 31, 2023 and stopped loading in December 2024. For a dated list of the songs behind top TikToks right now, use our free TikTok songs page. Below: what happened to Tokboard, a live preview, and the other free options, compared fairly.

Tokboard ranked songs by how many popular TikToks used them, with a weekly chart, monthly charts going back to early 2020, and lists of top and rising users. Archived copies show the chart refreshing normally in early 2022, stalling on November 21, 2022, getting one last update on May 31, 2023, and then staying frozen for 18 months while the site was still up. From December 21, 2024 on, archived visits to the chart return errors, and when we checked on Oct 26, 2026, the domain didn’t load at all. We found no shutdown notice from its maker, so we can’t tell you why it stopped.

Our TikTok songs page does a smaller version of the same job with current data. The TikTok niche samples behind it currently hold 216 TikToks with 10K+ views from 195 creators (updated Oct 26, 2026). 43 named songs and sounds came up, 4 of them in more than one top video. 78% of those videos use original audio instead, which is worth knowing before you build a video around a song.

As of October 2026, the other free places worth a look are Tokchart, Countik and the TikTok app itself. TikTok’s Creative Center showed no public songs list when we checked. Each is covered below, including its catch.

What Tokboard measured, and why a frozen chart misleads

Tokboard (its About page says it was formerly called Tiktometer) kept a large index of popular TikTok videos and grouped them by sound. Its About page put the index at more than 80 million top videos and 5 million users, and called its play counts a close lower bound, since it kept only a subset of each sound’s popular videos. The weekly chart ranked songs by how many of those videos used them, with total views alongside.

The scale was large. The final weekly chart was led by “Love You So” by The King Khan & BBQ Show, counted in 990 popular videos with 946.2M views. Original sounds were ranked next to licensed songs: number four was an original sound with 314 popular videos. The data was solid enough for research. A November 2024 study on arXiv about how TikTok revives older songs used Tokboard data collected up to May 19, 2022.

None of that makes the chart current. Tokboard’s data is now more than three years old, and a song on TikTok can rise and fade within weeks. If a search result promises Tokboard’s top TikTok songs this week, it can only be showing the chart from May 31, 2023 or earlier. The archived monthly pages (for example, March 2020) are still useful as music history, not as trend data.

How to read it. 43 named songs and sounds came up, 4 of them in more than one top video. Tokboard’s top songs were each counted in hundreds of popular videos. In a sample this size, a song behind two or three top videos is already a signal, and a song behind one is a song that worked once. 78% of the videos here use original audio instead of a named song.

Which free option fits your question

  • You want a chart of the whole platform. Tokchart’s free first page is the closest thing to Tokboard’s old chart: audios ranked by its own 1–1000 trend score, with videos per day over the last 7 days. Everything past the first 25 rows needs a plan, from $14.99 a month.
  • You want one country. Countik’s songs list has a country picker. TikTok’s Creative Center filters by region too, but when we checked it listed hashtags and videos, not songs.
  • You post from a business account. With a business account, TikTok only shows you sounds from its Commercial Music Library, which its help center describes as 1 million songs (article updated July 2026). Check a song inside the app before you plan a video around it.
  • You want songs that fit your niche. Our songs page shows which niche sample each sound came from, and trending sounds by niche covers Instagram Reels as well as TikTok.

How to use a song list without chasing a dead trend

  1. Check the date before the songs. Tokboard’s headline said “this week” for 18 months after its data stopped. A list without a visible date and sample size can’t tell you whether a song is rising or finished.
  2. Open the sound and read two numbers. How many videos use it, and how old its top videos are. A modest count with top videos only days old means you are early. A huge count with weeks-old top videos means most of the wave has passed.
  3. Prefer songs from your own niche. A song behind a dance trend rarely carries a skincare tutorial. A song that already sits under top videos in your niche is a closer match to your audience.
  4. Don’t treat music as required. In our latest TikTok sample, 78% of the top videos used original audio: talking, voiceover or the creator’s own sound. Keep a voiceover version of the same video ready in case the song doesn’t fit.
  5. Put your key moment on the beat change. If you do use a trending song, find the moment everyone reacts to and put your own reveal there. Borrow the timing, not the video.

Where Followlly fits

We make Followlly, so weigh our view accordingly. The songs page, the TikTok trends page and the trend finder are free and need no account. If all you want is a weekly list of songs, that is enough, and you don’t need the paid app.

The app is for creators who want the same view for their own niche: top Reels and TikToks refreshed about once a week, the sounds behind them, competitors checked every 2–3 days and scripts built from their own numbers. It costs $29/mo early access ($39 regular) after a 3-day trial on the plan you pick (card required, cancel anytime).

FAQ

Is Tokboard still working?
No. Its chart last updated on May 31, 2023, and archived visits to it have returned errors since December 21, 2024. When we checked on Oct 26, 2026, tokboard.com didn’t load, and www.tokboard.com returned Cloudflare error 1016. We found no notice saying why it stopped or whether it will return.
Where can I see top TikTok songs this week instead of Tokboard?
For free: our TikTok songs page (dated, no account), Tokchart’s first page of trending audios, Countik’s songs list by country, and each sound’s own page in the TikTok app. None is a one-to-one replacement. Tokboard counted far more videos than our samples, and Tokchart keeps most of its list behind a plan from $14.99 a month.
Can I still see old Tokboard charts?
Yes, through the Wayback Machine. Archived copies of the weekly chart and of the monthly pages, which go back to early 2020, still load. Every copy shows data from May 31, 2023 or earlier.
Is there an official TikTok songs chart?
Not a public weekly one that we could find, as of October 2026. The TikTok Billboard Top 50, a weekly US chart, ran from September 2023 until the Billboard and TikTok partnership ended in early March 2025. When we checked TikTok’s Creative Center (logged out, US region), its trend lists covered hashtags and videos, and the old songs address redirected to the hashtag list.
Is Followlly free?
The songs page, the trend pages and the free tools are free with no account. The app, which watches your own niche and competitors, costs $29/mo early access ($39 regular) after a 3-day trial (card required, cancel anytime).
