Free TikTok tools for creators

Three free tools built on the same public data the Followlly app works with: an engagement rate calculator, a trend finder that searches 640 recent short videos, and an outlier finder for any public TikTok or Instagram account. No login and no password.

What the free tools are built on

Right now the trend finder covers 15 niche windows — the largest are Beauty Reels (146 videos), Beauty TikTok (102 videos), Fitness Reels (45 videos) and Travel Reels (45 videos) — plus 11 recent videos from the latest scan of TikTok’s US trending feed: 640 videos from 613 creators. The fastest video is gaining about 5.3M views a day (@outruncook on TikTok, posted 6d ago). Across 191 TikToks with at least 1,000 views, the median engagement rate is 10.9% of views — a useful bar when you check your own posts.

How to use them together: search a topic in the trend finder to see what is moving this week, run the outlier finder on two or three accounts in your niche to see which of their videos broke out, then use the calculator on your own next post to see whether the audience reacted more or less than usual. Everything on these pages comes from public videos; each card links to the original post.

Free Instagram Reels tools

Same tools, Reels data and handles.

All three tools work for Instagram Reels too. The trend finder includes 443 Reels from 8 niches — set the platform filter to Instagram. The outlier finder accepts Instagram handles. For Reels engagement, enter likes and comments in the calculator and leave shares and saves empty unless you have them from your own Insights: Instagram does not show saves publicly, which is why the median we can measure for Reels (likes + comments ÷ views, 384 Reels) is 4.2%.

Trend data pages

Full lists by niche, built from the same data.

Also in the trend finder’s data: Tech Reels (45 videos), Home Reels (44 videos), Money Reels (43 videos) and Pets Reels (31 videos).

FAQ

Are these TikTok tools really free?
Yes. The engagement rate calculator and the trend finder are free and unlimited. The outlier finder fetches fresh public data for each new handle, which costs us money, so it allows 2 free lookups per day per visitor; a handle someone already looked up in the last 7 days loads from cache.
Do I need to log in or give my TikTok password?
No. Nothing here asks for a login. The outlier finder only needs a public username, and the calculator works on numbers you type in.
Where does the data come from?
Public TikTok and Instagram videos collected by niche hashtags: each niche sample is refreshed about every 7 days and merged into a rolling 21-day window. On top of that comes the latest scan of TikTok’s US trending feed and popular hashtags, refreshed every 1–3 days. Each video links to the original post. See how we measure.
Which free tool should I start with?
Start with the trend finder if you need an idea for your next video, the outlier finder if you want to know which of a competitor’s videos broke out, and the engagement rate calculator once a video is live and you want to judge how people reacted (this week’s TikTok median is 10.9% by views).
Is there a free TikTok analytics tool for competitors?
The outlier finder is the free version: it shows a competitor’s median views and every video at 2× or more of it. In the Followlly app, the competitors you add are re-checked automatically (every 2–3 days, depending on the plan), new outliers (3× the median by default, adjustable) and videos “rising now” are flagged, and AI writes scripts from your own numbers.
